I can't buy crypto with my credit card

Some banks are rather resistant or hostile to the world of cryptocurrencies and block credit card purchases or even SEPA transfers to certain crypto platforms. Indeed, banks are partly "responsible" for your money, and have verification obligations when movements to investments considered risky are detected.

This is why it could happen that your credit card purchases fail despite the proper compliance with the security checks offered by your bank.

So far, we have identified several cases:

  • Exceeding the CB purchase limit (daily / weekly or monthly).

  • Bank blocking because you want to send funds to platforms that your bank considers "risky".

If you are in a situation where your CB purchases are not authorized, you may be in one of these cases.

We invite you to get in touch with your bank advisor to discuss the situation with him or her and to quickly unblock your situation.

Not all banks have the same procedures, but it is even possible that a security unit of your bank will try to verify that you are indeed the originator of these purchase attempts by contacting you, or will offer you to sign a release before authorizing the purchase.
